Lamar Odom is taking a time out.
After weeks of rumors and speculation, the NBA free agent and husband of Khloé Kardashian has checked into a rehabilitation center for drugs and alcohol, according to People.
"He realized he needs help," a source told the magazine.
Last Friday, Odom, 33, was arrested for a DUI. He was pulled over at close to 4 a.m. on L.A.'s 101 Freeway after he was spotted driving too slowly and in a "serpentine manner."
The arrest came after a rocky few months for he and his wife, who was photographed at the end of August leaving the gym without her wedding ring. Their marital troubles were reportedly fueled by his drug abuse. (It probably didn't help that two women recently claimed to have had affairs with Odom as well.)
"Lamar genuinely doesn't think he has a problem — it's all 'work hard then party hard' with him until it goes off the rails," a source told People last month. "They really do love each other. But she really feels that this problem is out of control, and she's hurt that he won't get help."
Odom has spoken out before about his drug use, after he was suspended for violating the NBA's drug policies for players twice in 2001.
"I just couldn't control myself in L.A. … the lifestyle that I was living and the things I had access to," he said at the time.
